When I was 23 years old, I created Popistan, an attempt to re-examine Pakistan's creative culture through a pop filter. Like Warhol's Monroe, Popistan's first icon was Pakistani singing legend Madam Noor Jehan. As a movement, it shifts and evolves like a never-ending story, one which enables time travel and allows glimpses of artists and their works. Posing as visual puns, I attempt to create uniquely crafted pieces inspired by different icons. They are designed to reconcile my love for fun, fashion and art. It's simple!
